Rheem Replacement Parts Department Introduces 3-Stage Indoor Air Quality System.

July 27, 2007

EPA studies show that the air inside today’s homes can surprisingly be up to 100 times more polluted than the air found outdoors. To assist with this problem, Rheem is pleased to introduce the PROTECH IAQ-1, a 3-stage Indoor Air Quality System.
The PROTECH IAQ-1 System utilizes the latest in contamination control technology to reduce indoor pollution by attacking three types of airborne contaminants commonly found in today’s homes: particulates, microbial and chemicals. These include small dust particles, airborne mold spores, bacteria, viruses and chemical-based odors.
Specifically how does it work? Contaminated air passes through the patented Quartzel® felt, pleated particulate filter that removes particles as small as one micron. The combined action of the UV ray and Titanium Dioxide in the Quartzel felt acts as a catalyst that reduces other impurities. Additionally, two UV-C ultraviolet lights reduce viruses, bacteria, mold spores and fungi, and destroys volatile organic compounds such as paints, cleaning supplies, cooking smells and other gasses that create unpleasant odors. After this process is complete, clean, fresh air is distributed throughout the house.
For more information about this system, please contact a Rheem contractor.
